How Far Is ...
Remember as a child how important it was to know how far it was, when would we get there? Remember the urgent wanting to know about the future, that as a teenager you actually believed that you understood? Only to discover as you left your teens, you also didn't know as much about the future as you thought? It is our plight not to know some things, maybe that is why we are in many ways blessed not to know. This video is about what we are becoming, as much as it is about what is happening. Hope you enjoy the ride, the distance, you see, isn't the thing at all, is it?

Time
You may have wondered about why we are always
seeming to be so excited about the kinds of knowledge
that twitter is bringing our way of influence to a lot of people.
In one week a nicely sized church joined our ranks
as over 700 people joined drd4U, and we're a relatively
tiny organization, many of the stars of twitter reach
over 200,000 people a day- that's a lot of influence at
the touch of a key- wouldn't you say?
Yet as Jesus looked out, across the lonely
night hills of Jerusalem, he looked into
this future that he knew so well, and saw
the plight of the heart without attachment
that has meaning stripped from it. Jesus
looked at the lonely, looked at the popular,
looked at the poor, looked at the wealthy;
looked at all the people who were at stake
on whether his decision was right. Now just
because we can, let's pause and get our
perspective correct for this next statement:
There at the end of that entire universe the
creator stood- and reached his decision before
any other decisions were made:
Jhn 1:3 All things were made by him; and
without him was not any thing made that was made.
Now that we've got the perspective about right,
let's understand this one sort of odd part of this,
you are in every letter of John 1:3!
Have a great day

Your Never So Certain
It isn't characteristic of you, in fact, people who know you would say that you aren't yourself. Stop and think about that, if you aren't yourself, who are you? Before you dismiss that out of hand as a ridiculous phrase, maybe there is more there than meets the eye? We've become quite sophisticated in our scientific and technological age, so much so, that we dismiss out of hand any talk of - demons. We dismiss out of hand, any talk of spirits, which aren't good, being able to do anything with, or to, someone who is a Christian. We dismiss it out of hand and actually don't even consider that if a person were under the influence of an evil spirit, they certainly wouldn't be themself, would they? Now let's back that up one time and ask ourselves if we're real certain that we have it all ironed out about what Jesus meant when he talked about self denial? "Huh." you ask, "what's that your sayhing Dana, Jesus was talking about spirits and lives?" Well if we are to follow Jesus, my question becomes, can you do that without being indwelt with the Holy Spirit? So when you aren't yourself..well, my, my, you might be showing an outer truth of an inner condition, and we who observe such might ought to do what?
Let's leave it there...and you comment, we'll pick it back up tomorrow, but my sense is you might want to dial in for that one, pretty sure, it might not be what you are used to hearin'...until then, let's pray for one another.
Luk 18:1 And he spake a parable unto them [to this end], that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

Amazing Blazing Hazing
Roller coasters fascinate me,
they are thrilling,
somewhat scary, and I just love
to ride them.
On a list of the worlds tallest
and fastest coasters is Kingda Ka
Six Flags Adventure, New Jersey
POINT - It's amazing -
So- what about - the sad one

Some Things God
It was a quiet night, there weren't any clouds out, the stars were overwhelming in their number and brightness, and it was still. No wind, very little noise, 1 A.M. in a small rural southern community. There in the stillness of that moment is when God, the supreme creative maker of all, chose to break into the life before Him, and totally astonish my humanity. The first impression He gave me had to do with finite resources, and infinite need. We aren't handling those real well, which is where God kicked it off at, and then He did this amazing thing, He let me know that He knows that this is what we face and that I should begin to see the problem from another perspective. Now to my mind, at the time, that perspective seemed so, beyond, anything that would make sense, and yet, suddenly and with overwhelming power, God introduced me to just a smidgen of the sorrow that he handles, as the tears welled up inside me, the reality of people perishing for lack of needs being met, hit home with a full force. The second thing God showed me in that instant, is that He communicates with clarity to the human heart that is ready to understand the enormous amount of trust He has in us. Consider this from the Bible:
Please check MGR out
Luk 12:48 | But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few [stripes]. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more. |
